A process of transference, overdubbing and live manipulation reworks these source materials into compelling, ambient broadcasts. Adam has released three albums, numerous live CDrs and played at venues and festivals throughout Europe.
Points of reference: William Basinski, Aki Onda, Emeralds.
http://www.preslavliteraryschool.co.uk

POLDR (DE/FR)

Since visual artist and experimental musician Poldr (Benjamin Laurent Aman) relocated from France to Berlin, he has become one of the rising stars of the capital's established underground scene, marking himself out as a performer who deals with texture, frequency and field recordings with a distinct and unafraid ear. But then we thought:

What happens when a band cannot use drums?

What happens if you muffle the drums?

Can we record the drums in a soundproof room?

What if we muffle all the instruments?

What if the band has to play completely different instruments?

Or a completely different kind of music?

Can drums be played loudly, without them being loud?

And now we want drums, lots of drums, but played in unusual ways. Site specific, sound specific drums.

The questions do not end. But what may have been initially seen as a problem, we're turning into a useful limitation which enables us to experiment, ask questions, invent solutions and investigate sound outside the world of loudness.

WHO WE'D LIKE TO MEET

Acoustic noisesmiths, lo-fi, electronical, exponents of quiet, humms & cliks, tape loopers, vocal artistes, experimental oddities, musical boxes, sound collectors, joyful folk field trips, brooding unearthly sub frequencies, momentary fragments & bursts, barbershop quartets & modern classicals, jazz jazz, bent bits of wire, jammers, instrument breakers and pluckers and caressers, those who like to listen, those who like to speak, supreme manipulators of audial visions, people with nothing to lose.
